TODAY’S WORD FROM THE PASTOR

Well, it is Monday, March 23, and we yet find ourselves in the midst of a situation where we don’t know where we are going.  We are all hanging on and hoping and praying that this will go away.   Did I say “hanging on?”….maybe that is our problem.  We need to let our Lord hang on to us during this time.  In John 14: 27…..Jesus tells us:

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you.

I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled

and do not be afraid.

The world cannot give you peace and it cannot take away your peace.  Did you hear that????   God is doing two things among us:

  1.  He is causing everyone who is trusting in the “gods” of this world to be shaken and to have to look up to Him.  It hurts initially, but He loves us too much to just let us go.
  2. He is pulling us all closer to Himself and to each other during this time.  Paul said….”when I am weak, then I am strong.”   We are all having to take our eyes off of our own strength and “turn our eyes upon Jesus,” and when we do….we are strong in Him!

So, God IS in control…….we will make it……the sun will come out tomorrow…..the best is yet to be!!!   Trust in him, rest in him, believe in him and, when it is all over, don’t forget who brought you through!
